While in the Void by default she will move forward, completely passing through any attacks, traps or enemies unharmed, then reappear. This highly effective dodge move has Eira jump into a Void portal for up to one full second, with a small additional Mana cost taken at each quarter-second of travel. PORTAL COMBO: Portal Leap is activated by TAB by default, and costs MP to use. And it can combine into other techniques. However, at rank C it becomes a dodge-shot move by hitting Smash while running, and at rank A a second shot with Smash is possible when you land. WEAVE: By default Weave is just a dodge move. Unfortunately, combined with the fact that it is slower to use than Warp Combo due to the additional attack required it is also shorter range than Warp Combo so you're less likely to use it regularly, however there is an alternate option (see Portal Combo) Not only do they have significant range length-wise, they are quite noteworthy height-wise as well at roughly half of its length range this has been seen hitting enemies/destructables roughly 3 meters above the ground Eira is standing on, such as enemies on upper platforms or ledges.ĭISRUPTOR COMBO: Normal-Normal-Normal-Normal-Smash-Smash = Normal-Normal-Normal-Normal- Disruptor Shot- Disruptor BlastĪ version of Warp Combo that hits even harder. WARP COMBO: Normal-Normal-Normal-Smash-Smash = Normal-Normal-Normal- Warp Shot- Warp BlastĪ powerful and long range forward combo, the two final smash blasts hit very hard at quite a surprising range. She could be firing it while aiming off in the "wrong" direction to the side of the attacking boss in a way that most other characters would miss completely, evading the boss attacks in the process, and still hitting very hard. Against bosses this very same combo is still extremely lethal because it has such a wide AoE she does not need to be aiming and moving straight at the target. Enemies, weaker debris, even destroyable stone structures/pillars that many other characters take a while to destroy get obliterated en-masse in a single use of this combo. Despite appearances each of the three moves isn't quite a 360 degree effect, more of roughly a 180 degree forward cone, but she can switch direction after each of the first two stages so the entire combo put together can most certainly hit a long 360 degree area, and it hits HARD. Each of the three Bullet moves has her whirling around firing rapidly several times. Shorter range but it can launch lighter enemies up into the air, allowing for further juggles.īULLET COMBO: Normal-Normal-Smash-Smash-Smash = Normal-Normal- Bullet Rain- Bullet Storm- Bullet HailĪn absolutely vicious combo, and one of Eira's shining trademarks. LAUNCH COMBO: Normal-Smash = Normal- Mana Launcher NORMAL COMBO: Normal-Normal-Normal-NormalĪ decent range forward combo with lighter damage output by itself with a narrow column AoE. She does also have an MP bar, but her skills that use MP are not high damage ones so her MP should be considered more of a "tactical" resource. Her Portal Leap by itself is a profoundly effective evasion move that has her pass clean through any enemy attack unharmed, and can then chain into several powerful smash attacks. Her standard attacks are not as long-ranged or sniping-capable as those of Kai, but Eira is far more effective against squads of enemies and evasion. Active: Infinity Shot is one particularly good choice for very long range forward damage (though being hit by an enemy will stagger her and cut it short, so only try it on very far away or stunned enemies) and Active: Quantium Ruin is even more deadly, raining down extreme damage on the enemy while being completely protected from all attacks while it is getting set up. On top of this, her active skills can hit very hard at long range. She could be surrounded 360 degrees by 50 enemies and it wouldn't matter her Bullet Ccombo can quickly drop entire squadrons of enemies. Eira's skills have a brutal combination of long range, wide AoE and high damage as well as an excellent set of evasive techniques.

If you’re not sure what flex looks like, check out this video I made while recording a how-to heel and toe article. This can create what we refer to as flex, the unintended movement of the rig itself under duress. Higher-end sim racing wheelbases and pedals tend to create far higher forces (up to 30nm on the steering wheel and between 25 to 80kgs on the pedals). When you pick your seat and frame, keep in mind the available space you have, how powerful your equipment is, and how much you want to spend.Ībove all other things, rigidity is crucial. What are the best sim racing cockpits at the moment? For the most-expensive but very high quality, we love the rigs coming from. If you’ve just come for a quick recommendation, I’d always say check out our preferred starter chassis, the Sim Lab GT1 Evo, and/or the pro sim racer’s choice, the P1-X. It is possible to buy a sim racing rig as a separate unit or as part of a bundle package with a seat, and in certain cases, some other accessories too. Sim racing rigs (or “sim racing cockpits” – the chassis upon which you mount all of your racing simulator gear) come in many shapes and sizes, with a huge variety of choices in terms of build quality, strength, rigidity, and of course price. If you’re fine with the single pocket, feel free to disregard my annoyance. They can carry only what they can fit on their person, and for a lot of those people one small pocket just doesn’t cut it. I understand that zippers and additional fabric would have made this jacket much heavier and less packable, but really Patagonia? And the main reason I don’t like this is because the jacket is partially intended for runners, who don’t really carry additional bags with them. The zipper is not waterproof, so don’t use it for items that shouldn’t get wet. It is zippered and it acts as a stuffsack for the jacket, but that’s about it. The Patagonia Houdini jackets boast a single lonely chest pocket. Considering the amount of money Patagonia wants you to spend on this jacket, I really don’t think that’s too much to ask. Sometimes you’re not going to need it at all and it’s just going to get in the way – this could have been avoided with the addition of a tiny hood pocket on the collar. One thing I don’t like about the hood is that you can’t stow it anywhere. But you will need to find the perfect balance – if you tighten the hood too much, it is going to be restrictive and you won’t be able to comfortably move your head without it either falling off or blocking your view. This ensures that the hood is not going to block your peripheral vision and that it’s only going to cover your head as much as you want it to. The best thing about the hood is that you can adjust it in one quick pull. It is quite a big hood that really hugs your head from top, bottom and sides, to ensure not a drop of water can get on your skin. The Patagonia Houdini jacket is equipped with a non-removable hood for ultimate protection from the weather. And since they are not taped on the Houdini, don’t be surprised if you see some loose threads after a couple months. With thinner jackets like this one, seams are usually the first thing to go. The jacket will be fine if you wear it casually, but if it’s always getting caught on tree branches and rocks, I’m afraid it’s not going to live a very long life. It’s not even that the jacket is poorly made, it is just that material this thin can’t withstand excessive use and abuse. The Houdini is so thin you can see through the jacket – do you really think that fabric that thin would be able to survive repeated encounters with sharp rocks? And I’m not even bashing Patagonia it’s just that jackets that are this thin and lightweight don’t tend to have the sturdiest construction. Part of that is true – the Houdini is coated with DWR (durable water repellent) and water will just slide off the fabric.īut as far as durability goes, I wouldn’t expect too much from this jacket. This should mean that it’s a tough and durable jacket with great water resistance. The Patagonia Houdini jacket is entirely made from recycled ripstop nylon. 1.SEE LATEST PRICES Materials And Durability. Can be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.Durable half-elastic cuffs drawcord hem.Hood adjusts in one pull, won’t block peripheral vision.Slim fit with drop tail for improved fit while moving.Zippered chest pocket converts to stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop.Featherweight 100% recycled nylon ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.(Unfortunately, we are unable to ship Patagonia products outside of the European Area (defined as the European Economic Area plus Switzerland and the UK)) Trek Scotland Review - Patagonia Houdini Jacket. The nylon fabric is 100% recycled which is a fantastic Eco bonus typical of Patagonia's ethos. It is perfect for trail runners but is useful to anyone heading to the hills for throwing over a mid layer to keep out the wind. The Houdini jacket is surprisingly comfortable next to the skin considering how light it is. Part elasticated cuffs also help with this fit without restricting movement. However, it still has a small zipped chest pocket which doubles as a stuff sack along with adjustable hood and hem with small draw cords to get the fit right for the conditions. Weighing in at 100g it keeps features to a minimum to achieve this weight. Patagonia's Houdini Jacket is a super-light wind jacket. It’s the emergency layer you don’t know is there, until it’s not. Slim fit accommodates baselayers and light midlayers. 100% nylon ripstop fabric blocks wind and a DWR (durable water repellent) coating protects against light precipitation. Perfectly minimal, the Houdini can be stuffed and put into a running short pocket, clipped to a harness, or become a permanent fixture in a pack or carry-on. This weather-resistant little wonder has been on our “list of essentials” for nearly a decade. The Patagonia Women's Houdini Jacket is a 100% recycled nylon, super light take-it-anywhere jacket with weather-resistant protection for high-output endeavors. Jump to: Our Verdict / Features / Specifications In January 2015 David Briggs and Nick Spriggs began an unsuccessful Indiegogo campaign to make the BOSS phone, an Android-based phone with "rooted Tor encryption" to anonymize and privatize internet browsing. Using Tor with Orbot and Tor Browser are supported by custom Android operating systems CalyxOS and DivestOS. John Corpuz of Toms Guide listed Tor Browser (Desktop and Android), and Onion Browser (iOS) as two of 16 "best ad blockers in 2021". In 2018 Louis Adam of ZDNet France discussed new official support of Tor Project for Tor services on Android phones, including Tor Browser and Orbot. As of 2016 there were about 2 million daily Tor users, total, including all devices and methods. The number of Tor users on phones is unknown. As of February 2022 or earlier, Orbot is also available for iOS phones. Follow-on project, GrapheneOS supports using Orbot (Tor) VPN, but not Tor browser, on Android-based phones. Another option is to use Torbrowser on smartphones. The prototype Tor Phone was based on CopperheadOS, which added additional security features. Tor Phone refers to a smartphone set to route internet connections through Tor network, for example using the Orbot application and Android VPN settings, although according to developer Mike Perry in 2016, Android's VPN APIs were not secure and could leak data at boot, which affects Orbot too. The project was led by Mike Perry, Tor Browser lead developer. Work on Tor Phone was launched in 2014, and a "Tor-enabled Android phone prototype" was announced in 2016. The first Tor Phone was a prototype smartphone released in 2016 by The Tor Project, which gave users the ability to route internet connections through Tor for anonymity. Smartphone that routes internet connections through the Tor networkĪ Tor Phone refers to the concept of a smartphone that routes internet connections through the Tor network. Simply the Best Wooden Fluid Rowing Machine I so very dearly wanted to enjoy Shadow Warrior like thousands of people had before me, and will continue to for years to come. Shoot the shining pieces of armour until they break, then shoot the revealed ‘crystals’, repeat this cycle three or four times and voila! You are left with one quite deceased boss. However the method to defeating the bosses is arduously simple. The boss fights are particularly dreadful, to ensure no spoilers are revealed, I will not mention any names or locations. The beautiful dismemberment system even became dull after the six millionth generic demon. The last seven chapters were spent mindlessly slashing through creatures in a desperate attempt to finish the level. Six enemies over twelve hours of gameplay. Two of which are ‘pseudo-bosses’ so that brings the number of constant creatures to six. This will occur constantly and without rest.īeing a fan of Hotline Miami (2012), repetitive enemies are no foreign concept, but there is a mere total of eight variations of enemies to fight. The player will finish a gruelling battle against two of the same pseudo-bosses only to have another two of the exact same variation appear through a magic portal. However coupled with the monotony of the repetitive enemies and boss fights, it slows the game down, almost to a grinding halt. Normally, this is a perfect video game length. Shadow Warrior is approximately twelve hours, spanning over seventeen chapters. Where the fault, nay the struggle, lies within Shadow Warrior, is the length and repetition which plagues almost every level. (I applaud you, if you found the Easter Egg, I am referring to) Containing plenty of references to other video games, and one film in particular, containing a rather violent Rabbit. It is a fast-paced hack ‘n slash and knows it. Albeit for the most part, and this is no fault, the game is quite predictable. Not wanting to spoil any aspects of the campaign, I shall refrain from mentioning any specific details, due to the game implementing a number of twists and turns. The campaign is very stereotypical, one must defeat the ‘ancients’ in order to save the world from destruction, and secure the ancient Katana known as the ‘ Nobitsura Kage‘. (My personal favourite being: “Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and the world laughs at you.) Lo Wang, along with Hoji, keep the player entertained with endless amounts of banter and sarcastic quips. The small secret ‘fortune cookies’ which can be found, contain sardonic and often crude one-liners and rarely provide introspective thoughts. But where does this game fault? In the comedy? Not at all, the harlequinades of the aptly named ‘Lo Wang’ and his counterpart ‘Hoji’ will leave the player in fits of laughter. Filled to the brim with Sakura trees (Cherry Blossoms) wide, open mountainous regions, closed, tight claustrophobic cave areas and the cavernous depths of the shadow realm. The game is set in the fictional world of… Japan. The level design is simply gorgeous, when there was time between removing the limbs of the sixteenth version of the same enemy, the view was breathtaking. Shadow Warrior is a struggle, not due to difficulty or abhorrent level design, the difficulty is perfectly balanced, offering the generic options of casual, medium and hard. This is quite true, almost every aspect of Shadow Warrior that the fans of the original know and love have been implemented into this 2013 edition. According to the Steam page, Shadow Warrior is a “bold re-imagining of the classic 3D Realms’ shooter”. This was a thinly veiled reference to the Green Zone in Baghdad where the American officials were safe whilst the rest of the city was falling into anarchy. It was a highly fortified island in a sea of danger. In 28 Weeks Later the American military made the Isle of Dogs into a green zone. It was released in 2007 during the height of the Iraq War and the events in 28 Weeks Later reflected this. Romero’s Living Dead series since all those films were standalone films that were set during the zombie apocalypse.Ģ8 Weeks Later was a politically charged film. This decision made 28 Weeks Later a film that fans of the original can enjoy as a follow-up, whilst newcomers don’t need to see the first film. It was a continuation of the events in 28 Days Later but focused on a new set of characters. This meant 28 Weeks Later was a different beast from the original.Ģ8 Weeks Later was a special kind of sequel. Spanish filmmaker, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, took on the directing duties. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland were busy making Sunshine, but they stayed on as executive producers. These factors had an influence on the sequel since it was released in May 2007, made to be more like a summer blockbuster, and gave American characters prominent roles.Ģ8 Weeks Later saw a change in the creative team. It was released in June 2003 in the USA, making it a summer film. It made $45 million in the USA on a limited release. When the siblings break out of the safe zone, they discover their mother (Catherine McCormack) had survived the apocalypse and her appearance could bring salvation or disaster.Ģ8 Days Later was a surprise hit when it was released in America. Two people who are repatriated are Andy (Mackintosh Muggleton) and Tammy (Imogen Poots), brother and sister and they become the youngest people in Britain. So, it seemed fair to look at the sequel that’s celebrating its 15 th anniversary.Ģ8 weeks after the rage virus outbreak the American military declare Britain is safe for repatriation and the Isle of Dogs is declared a safe zone. Director Fresnadillo directed a fine meditation on luck called Intacto several years ago, and while 28 Weeks Later ultimately falls shy of classic status (it's no Panic in Year Zero!), there are several hard-to-shake scenes – nightmare visions, really – that reveal the infected populace to be far less dangerous to the fabric of a civilized society than, perhaps, the very notion of civilization itself. In the previous Britflix retrospective, I looked at one of my favourite British horror films, 28 Days Later. But 28 Weeks Later, with its panic-paced sequences of graphic, random violence and a narrative thrust that rockets along just shy of the speed of terror, has more up its sleeve than either a jab in the eye with the short, sharp stick of a not unimaginable pandemic situation or its more obvious (and less exciting) outbursts of outright horror. It gets worse, of course, with the core message being "never trust an American with a gun who says he's here to 'help' you" (or similarly obvious antiestablishment ethos). There's a Children of Men vibe running through 28 Weeks Later that has something to do with the boy possibly carrying a genetic resistance (and, therefore, antidote) to the rage virus, but from the moment dodgy dad Don meets up with the wife he left to certain death in the film's first reel, you just know that a crimson tide lurks around the bend. Enter Special Forces sniper Doyle (Renner), who, although he and his men have been assured the plague has died out, discovers, along with Don and his young son Andy (Muggleton), that viruses are hard to kill. military, who, as current events daily demonstrate, have had more than their fair share of government-sanctioned practice in getting the job done, meter by bloody meter. So what do you do when you've got a city in ruins and no discernible infrastructure, mounds of charred bodies and blackened lorries stewing in the streets, and nothing even resembling a functioning society? You send in the U.S. London is dead, and the zombified hordes have eaten everyone in sight and finally starved to death. As in real life, things are much, much worse now. In Boyle's wickedly DIY prequel, a lethal, highly communicable "rage virus" turned most of the citizenry into bloodthirsty savages, while the film smartly riffed on everything from contemporary fears of unchecked biogenetic engineering to the steadily eroding popular trust in No. I'm still not too thrilled about his worldly turn as a the bullet-in-the-head Bond baddie back when the world was not enough, but with 28 Weeks Later, a sequel to Danny Boyle's 2002 DV guerilla zombie film 28 Days Later, Carlyle behaves so monstrously and makes the red-foam-flecked most of his character Don. – Expose Vulnerabilities (Better than dropping a fireball) – Deleterious Alacrity (One of the best buffs in the game, cuts recovery in half – with 0 armor penalty leads to no recovery for spells) – Miasma of Dull Mindedness (Good to soften up before will attacking spell) – Fetid Caress (Decent single target paralyses) – Curse of Blackened Sight (Party friendly long duration AoE blind, use when things too messy for chillfog) – Combusting Wounds (Combine with any non-DoT repeat damage spell/ability/attack, loads of damage!) – Binding Web (Combine with Druid's form of the Delemgan) – Bewildering Spectacle (Useful in early game before Confusion at level 4, aoe Confuse) – Concelhauts Parasitic Staff (Great in early game) – Wizard's Double (With hardened Arcane Veil you'll be more or less unhittable – Combine with Draining Wall!) – Spirit Shield (Good if you need concentration in a pinch – Eldritch Aim (+20 accuracy, to be cast before CC, stacks with devotions for faithful) – Chill Fog (long duration blind, combine with combusting wounds) I went through the spell lists and these are the ones that I tend to cast most often when I use both classes: Be a bit careful though with passive/active AoE buffs that your own dudes put out. Charming/Dominating/Confusing more or less = a chance to cast summon spell in terms of effect, except it has the benefit of taking enemies away from combat. They create a buffer between you and your enemies, taking the heat away from you and allowing you to damage the other dudes. Charm/Dominate/Confusion spells are insanely good. |
